Performance Qualification SystemWhat
is the UV-Vis PQ Kit?
The UV-Vis Performance Qualification (UV-Vis PQ) Kit is designed to allow you to fully qualify and document your UV-Vis Spectrophotometer using NIST-Traceable standard reference materials. The UV-Vis PQ System is comprised of 3 major components: • A series of Calibration Solutions, NIST-Traceable with Certificate of Analysis • A Validated Excel tm based software template (protected) to compile, calculate and graph the test results • A series of Test Protocols, which can be freely incorporated into your internal SOP’s The test solutions include the following: • Absorbance Accuracy/Linearity Solutions at 7 concentrations covering the official NIST range. These solutions are identical in composition to those described in the NIST Standard Reference Material (SRM) 935a. • A Wavelength Calibration Solution, 4% Holmium Oxide, identical in composition to NIST SRM 2034. • A Stray Light Solution, 1% Potassium Iodide, identical in composition to that described in NIST SRM 2032. All solutions are pre-made to exacting analytical standards, and are ready to use. Total time for a full Spectrophotometer Qualification is typically less than 30 minutes. The enclosed software prints all test results, ready for review and sign off. What Does it Test? The UV-Vis PQ System tests your Spectrophotometer for the following performance characteristics: ‡ Absorbance Accuracy/Linearity at up to 5 wavelengths (235nm, 257nm, 313nm, 345nm and 350nm). The user isfree to select any or all of these wavelengths for Absorbance Accuracy Qualification. The provided software automatically compensates for solution temperatures, correcting for deviations of 0.1% or better. The Absorbance Accuracy results are automatically compared to the Official NIST Tables for SRM 935a. The results are calculated in terms of % Absorbance Accuracy against these Official Standards. ‡ Absorbance Linearity results are automatically graphed, along with the Residuals, to easily visualize the LinearRange of the Spectrophotometer. Full Regression statistics are calculated and presented. ‡ Wavelength Accuracy is documented at up to 14 Official Wavelengths from 241nm - 641 nm. The results arepresented in terms of deviation of the observed maxima from the official values at the instrument bandwidth used. In addition, the Found vs. Official Wavelengths are plotted, so that trends in monochrometer error become immediately apparent. ‡ Stray Light is tested according to the official NIST SRM 2032 procedures. The complex calculations of this testprocedure are imbedded within the software, and are instantly presented as % Stray Light. ‡ The materials contained within the UV-Vis PQ Kit can also be used to test the Absorbance Linearity andWavelength Accuracy of other instruments, such as Capillary Electrophoresis or HPLC Detectors. The UV-Vis PQ Kit is economical. Retail Price for the complete qualification kit with Validated Software is only $575. There are no limits or restrictions on the number of Instruments that can be qualified with a single kit. Wavelength Calibration solution is available separately, with the Validated Software, for $90. Customer support is always available at no charge.
